Tag! You're it!

Happy Monday everyone! I have a great, reading inspired story to share.

Last week, a student checked out "Hush Hush" from my classroom. Today, when they had time to read, not only was she reading "Hush Hush," but another student had went to the library to check it out and was also reading it!

I couldn't help but smile and feel excited about the year to come. Everyone watch out - the reading bug is being passed around.

  1. Hey, I saw your post on my blog about teaching teenagers. I taught grade 7 for 5 years and Grade 8 for one (last year). I think that the switch from Grade 7 to 8 did me in in terms of teenagers. Grade 7's are still a little excited about school (at times) and not too cool for a lot of stuff. Grade 8's seem to come in on the first day already knowing everything and acting much too cool because they will be moving on to highschool. I think 6 years with one age group is enough, and I decided to move to Grade 4 as a way to continually challenge myself.
